Stormwater Management Highlighted at mela:: The Conference 2015

This year’s Conference keynote speaker is Debra Shore, a Commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRDGC), who opens the Conference with a profile of stormwater management in Chicagoland. She’ll explore some ideas for steps you can take to help mitigate the issues of flooding by working together, and will fill you in with her recommendations for working with the MWRDGC, the Illinois agency charged with managing water in most of Cook County. Dennis Dreher, Geosyntech Consultants follows Shore with an educational session on best practices for sustainable stormwater management, including discussion of specific case studies and the economics of stormwater management in progressive, sustainable communities.

MELA’s popular afternoon breakout sessions bring industry leaders together to present innovative approaches to healthy landscapes in the areas of design, landscape management and site evaluation that serve up fresh perspectives and new tools to build sustainable businesses.

Conference attendance will not only help you pinpoint and enhance the steps you’ve already taken toward sustainable practices, but will help you build new pathways to profitable sustainable services and practices.
